Maple Sugar Weekend
The Highland Lake Inn has partnered with a local sugar house to offer "Maple Madness" packages that includes a two night stay offering  sumptuous country breakfasts with maple syrup as the featured ingredient, sugar house tour, demonstration, tasting and much more for what promises to be a mmm...mmm...sweet time

The warming days of March makes the sap run heralding the approach of spring and all month long the Tucker Mountain Maple Syrup Co-Op will be busy collecting and boiling just a mile away from the Highland Lake Inn. Guests can join collecting the buckets as well as boiling the syrup in a romantic sugar house.

The "Maple Madness" package $140 per person,
double occupancy, and include:

Two nights lodging with a sumptuous daily breakfast
Invitation to a sugar boiling experience at the nearby Sugar House

 Highland Lake Apple Farm

This farm is a gentleman's country estate farm which stands on 2 ½ acres of which 1 ½ acres are cultivated for fruit trees, vegetables, and small fruits. It is located on 50, Maple Street in the picturesque village of East Andover.  Maple Street is one of the most beautiful back roads of New Hampshire, known for its fall foliage, beautiful homesteads, Highland lake and stone walls.

The vegetable stand will be open for fresh produce, preserves, and relishes.  This is a self service operation. If available, Peter and Mary will show you the beauty of their property and their produce.  This includes herb gardens, flower beds, vegetables, fruit trees and small berries.

Come and enjoy the thrill of picking your own apples from a family orientated orchard. Strolling through the garden will be a joy unto itself. Variety of apples available: Macintosh, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Liberties, Freedoms, Wolf River, Idare, Cox Orange Pippins, Cortland, and Wine sap. Making of non pasteurized apple cider will be demonstrated.

Come to Highland Lake Apple Farm on Maple Street for your late fall vegetables, apples, preserves, relishes, and vinegars. Take the opportunity to drive along Maple Street to see the outstanding fall foliage and views of  Mt.Kearsarge, Ragged Mountain, Highland Lake, and beyond.  Fueled by a passion for riding and a little luck Highland Mountain Bike Park became a reality in July of 2003.  Now after almost 2 years of work the HMBP team is focused on building a world class bike park that will change the way East Coast riders perceive lift accessed mountain biking.

YOU DON'T NEED TO BE A WRITER OR A STORYTELLER TO TELL YOUR STORY ALL YOU NEED IS A WILLINGNESS TO SHARE A BIT OF YOURSELF AND YOUR KNOWLEDGE.
When I was young I often begged my grandmother and grandfather to tell me the stories of how they lived and what they did. I wanted to know all about them and where they had been. I wanted to know about a time when things were easier or different. Now that I am a grandmother, I remember how important it is to pass on the stories. This class will help you write and tell your own story and the stories of your ancestors.
